Sectors we know from the shop floor

Retail, healthcare, logistics and four more. The technology under the bonnet looks similar everywhere. What differs is which system may never stand still, and at what hour of the week that matters most. From SME to enterprise: what can be done remotely runs the same everywhere, and in the Benelux we are on site as well.

Sector knowledge decides how useful your IT support is

Almost every organisation runs a network, a set of laptops and a cloud platform. What really differs between them is what happens the moment one of those stops working. A till that freezes on a Saturday afternoon costs revenue on the spot. A care system that refuses to open costs time nobody on a ward has to give. A scanner that drops off the network in a distribution centre holds up an entire shift.

So we organise support by sector as well as by service. The tooling is largely identical, the priorities are not. Which systems may never go down, which quiet hours are in fact the busiest, which supplier has to be on the call the moment an incident starts: those answers come from the sector, not from a standard SLA template.

Retail is our lead sector and the place where most of our hands-on experience sits. Healthcare and transport and logistics follow closely, and we also work in education, industry, professional services and hospitality. Our cover is nationwide across the Netherlands and Belgium, with our overseas colleagues taking the nights and the weekends.

Overview

Thirteen sectors, one way of working

Three of them have a page of their own with the full story. The rest are described here, and the approach behind them is exactly the same.

Our lead sector

Retail

Tills, payment terminals, branch connectivity and stock systems that have to hold up on the busiest trading day of the year. We keep the shop open, from the checkout to the back office, and we plan the work around opening hours instead of straight through them.

Continuity and confidentiality

Healthcare

Care systems, shared workstations on the ward and access to patient records, with all the confidentiality rules that come with them. Support that understands a handover cannot wait in a ticket queue.

Warehouse and road

Transport and Logistics

Scanners, terminals and warehouse Wi-Fi that has to keep working between full racking and moving stock, plus the links to planning and transport management systems. Nights and weekends are covered, because that is when much of the work happens.

Term time and exam weeks

Education

Classrooms, shared devices and lecture halls where the wireless network comes under pressure the second everyone logs on at once. We measure coverage per building, keep accounts in step with every new intake, and schedule maintenance around exam periods rather than on top of them.

Office IT beside the shop floor

Industry and Manufacturing

Production sites where office IT sits next to machinery and older control systems that cannot simply be patched. We separate those two worlds properly on the network and keep the traffic between them under management.

Document driven work

Professional Services

Accountancy, legal and advisory firms where the work is documents, deadlines and client confidentiality. Dependable access from the office, from home and from a client site, with clear rules on who may reach what.

Explore professional services →
Guest facing systems

Hospitality

Hotels, restaurants and venues where guest Wi-Fi, reservations and payment share the same infrastructure. Any outage is visible to guests immediately, so the network is built for the busiest evening, not the average one.

Regulated and audited

Banks & Insurance

Environments where every change has to be traceable and an auditor can ask afterwards who did what, and when. We work with change windows, four-eyes approval on production and logging that survives a review, so a security update does not become an audit finding.

Procurement and continuity

Public Sector

Municipalities, agencies and executive bodies work to fixed frameworks and public accountability. We deliver within those frameworks, document what we do in a way that stands up in a council question, and keep systems that citizens depend on available.

Uptime by the minute

Telecommunications

In telecom a fault is measured in minutes, not in working days. We take on monitoring, the field work at sites and the coordination between suppliers, so an outage has one owner instead of three parties pointing at each other.

OT next to IT

Energy

Office automation and operational technology sit closer together here than anywhere else, and the security requirements are not the same. We keep the two apart where that is necessary and connected where it is useful, with monitoring that also covers the sites without staff.

Care at a distance

Telemedicine

Remote consultations only work if the connection, the image and the record hold up at the same time. We arrange the network, the devices and the security around them, within the same privacy requirements that apply inside the building.

Explore telemedicine →
Small team, real requirements

Non-Profit

Often one or two people doing IT alongside their actual job, while the requirements around donor data are no lighter than anywhere else. We take on what has to be arranged and leave what you can do yourself, so the budget goes to your cause rather than to management overhead.

The chain sets the rules

Automotive

Suppliers, dealers and workshops work within their customer’s agreements, and those touch IT directly. We keep the shop floor separated from the office, customer data apart and the systems the delivery hangs on available.

The work is outside

Rail

Rail contractors, maintenance firms and operators work trackside, often at night and inside a window that cannot be extended. We make sure the job travels outside with them, coverage or not, and that what happens there returns to the records without retyping.

The peak is the deadline

E-commerce

Revenue lands in a handful of days a year, and then the warehouse has to keep scanning and stock has to add up across every channel. We count equipment against peak volumes, monitor the integrations between channel and stock, and make sure somebody is reachable on a Saturday.

The customer sets the terms

Defence

Suppliers and maintenance firms in this chain are handed conditions on access to drawings, where data sits and what must be traceable about a delivery. We build the corporate IT around that; classified systems stay with the party approved for them.

Water, soap and an inspector

Food and drink

The production area is hosed down every day and the batch records have to stand up to a recall. We pick equipment that survives that environment, keep the floor separated from the office and make sure one step back and one step forward is an export.

Explore food and drink →
All the engineering, no IT

Technology companies

A software company has its own developers and, precisely because of that, almost never anyone doing the corporate IT. We take on the laptops, the access, the subscriptions and the evidence for your customer’s questionnaire, and stay away from your product.

Explore technology companies →
A new site every project

Construction

A construction firm opens a site office each project, with a connection, equipment that has to take dust and rain and access for subcontractors. At the end it all goes away again. We turn that into one package, rolled out at every start and collected at handover.

The gate opens at seven

Events

On a site with no patch cabinet and no fibre we build the network, the connectivity and the payment and scanning points, in days and against a deadline that does not move. Crew and public kept apart, and everything keeps working when the line drops for ten minutes.

What stays the same in every sector

Your sector sets the priorities. The way we organise the work behind them does not change.

  • One point of contactIncidents, service requests and changes all land in the same place, whichever combination of services you take from us.
  • 24/7 cover on what mattersYou decide which systems are critical. Those are watched outside office hours as well, by our teams outside the Benelux.
  • A certified way of workingWe are certified to ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO 14001, and Kiwa NEN 4400-1 applies to our staffing work.
  • Local coordination, global deliveryYour contact sits in the Benelux and speaks your language. The delivery capacity behind that runs across three offices.
  • Reporting you can act onMonthly figures on volumes, lead times and recurring causes, translated into concrete changes rather than into more tickets.
  • Advice and delivery from one partyWe write the plan and then carry it out ourselves. Nothing is lost in the handover between the party that advises and the party that builds.
Approach

How we get up to speed in your sector

Sector experience is useful, but it does not replace knowing your own organisation. The first weeks are about the difference between the two.

Walk the floor

We start where the work happens: the checkout, the ward, the warehouse or the classroom. A short walk round on site tends to explain more than an afternoon of documentation.

Map the critical chain

Together with your own administrators we work out which systems have to keep running, what depends on them and which suppliers are involved when things go wrong.

Set priorities in the SLA

Response times follow your calendar, not a generic office rhythm. Peak trading, night shifts, exam weeks and busy evenings are written down before they arrive.

Review and adjust

Every reporting cycle we check whether the priorities still match reality. Sectors move, and an SLA that stands still quietly stops being accurate.
