What Okta makes
Okta puts one sign-in in front of everything an employee uses, including the applications that are not Microsoft. The real work is at the back: someone who leaves loses access to all fifty applications in one action, and that is exactly what gets left behind when it is handled by hand.
Why Okta, and where it stops
Okta is the pick when the applications come from several suppliers and Microsoft is only one of them; if everything already sits in Microsoft 365, Entra ID does the same and you pay twice. Weigh too that you place the front door with a single party: if Okta is down, nobody gets in anywhere.
