What Pure Storage makes
Pure Storage supplies all-flash storage and sells it with a subscription under which the controllers are replaced periodically without a migration. That last part is the actual product: a storage migration is the kind of project that eats a weekend and a risk assessment, and this takes that out.
Why Pure Storage, and where it stops
Pure Storage fits where storage is a production asset and downtime is counted by the hour. For smaller environments it is over-dimensioned: a Synology or QNAP NAS does the same there for a fraction. When comparing, work the Evergreen subscription through over six years, because that is where the difference sits and not in the purchase price.
