What Flyingvoice makes
Flyingvoice is Chinese and makes IP handsets and ATA adapters: boxes connecting an analogue handset or a fax machine to a modern phone system. Alongside that is a line of handsets working over Wi-Fi rather than over a network cable.
Why Flyingvoice, and where it stops
Flyingvoice is the cheapest route to getting an analogue device that has to stay onto an IP phone system: a lift alarm, a door phone, a fax line an authority still requires. Where it stops, and we always say this alongside: a lift alarm through an adapter is a chain with an extra link, and that link needs power and can fail. For an alarm someone’s safety hangs on, the choice belongs with the lift installer and not with us. We say what is technically possible and what the risks are.
