What Elgato makes
Elgato, part of Corsair, makes equipment letting someone produce good picture and sound without a studio: an LED panel lighting the face evenly, a microphone on an arm, and the Stream Deck, a box of buttons that performs an action with one press.
Why Elgato, and where it stops
We supply Elgato for anyone regularly on camera: a board member presenting online, a trainer, a salesperson giving demonstrations. Light is the instrument that makes the most difference there and is almost never bought, a good camera in bad light gives a bad picture and not the other way round. The Stream Deck is besides practically useful for something it was not made for: a button that mutes the microphone, one that shares the screen, one that leaves the meeting. Where it stops: this is desk equipment and not a room installation. For a space with several participants, Huddly, Shure or Biamp is the right direction.
