What CipherLab makes
CipherLab is Taiwanese and makes handheld terminals: a scanner with a screen and Android inside, on which the warehouse software runs directly. The RS series is the Android line, and there are ring scanners worn on a finger so both hands stay free for picking.
Why CipherLab, and where it stops
CipherLab is defensible in a warehouse where the number of terminals determines the investment: order pickers, stocktaking, a seasonal peak needing twenty extra devices. The price sits noticeably below Zebra and Honeywell at comparable specifications. Where it stops: look at the battery and the keypad, not at the scanner. A terminal empty halfway through the day or whose keys stutter after six months costs more in downtime than the price difference. We therefore ask about shift length and scans per day before naming a model.
