What AGFEO makes
AGFEO is German and makes phone systems and system handsets for the smaller company, in the same corner as Auerswald. The handsets have physical keys you program yourself (a button per colleague, per department or per door) and at a reception or a practice that is faster than a menu on a screen.
Why AGFEO, and where it stops
AGFEO is defensible where someone at a desk or in a practice transfers calls all day: pressing a button works faster there and with fewer mistakes than searching a list. Like Auerswald the systems accept analogue handsets, so an existing door phone keeps working. Where it stops: outside Germany the brand is less known and the range of integrations with other software is limited. Anyone wanting to hang their telephony off a CRM is better off looking at 3CX or a cloud service. And the subscription and the numbers stay with the provider.

- The quantityOn a larger batch the per-device price comes down. Twenty at once is a different conversation from two, even when everything else is equal.
- What has to be on itA device delivered with your settings, software and security costs more than a box, and saves an installation day per unit. That is a choice, not a surcharge.
- Delivery and installationTo one address or to fifteen sites, with or without on-site placement, with or without taking away what was there. That difference is in the price and it is yours to steer.

- Firmware under managementUpdates are planned rather than automatic. A handset that stops registering after an update is an outage at reception, and that should sit with us.
- Swap on failureA replacement is on the shelf, so a broken handset is a swap and not an order. On a reception phone that is the difference between an hour and a week.
